Why not make it part of this hand to mouth sweet- Apple Turnovers...made with the fruit from the Garden of Eden.
Here's my organic and easy recipe and make sure to eat these guilt-free
Preheat oven to 200 C
Butter crust
220 grams of cold butter
1/3 to 2/3 cups of ice water
2 and a half cups ancient grain 00 flour
Mix together with your hands and add enough ice water until you get a homogenous dough. Separate into 4 sections, wrap in cooking parchment paper and keep in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Sweet Apple Filling
2 tart green apples peeled and cut into cubes
1/2 cup raw cane organic sugar
1/2 organic brown sugar
1/2 squeezed lemon
3 tbsp of ancient grain flour
1 tbsp butter
Mic together and heat in a pan on low heat until apples are medium soft. Remove from heat and let cool.
Take the cold pastry dough and roll out into a big rectangle and cut into squares (about 15 by 15 cm):
beat with a fork one organic egg
Fill the center with apple mixture, and baste the inside edges of the square with beaten egg.
Fold over and seal edges with a fork.
cut 3 slit into a pretty flower shape on top of the turnover, baste with the egg mixture and sprinkle with raw cane sugar.
Lay turnovers on cooking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes
Cool before serving and enjoy this divine treat of cosmic energy!
