Feeling frazzled during the change of seasons? With the Fall season we embrace the changing of colors and shorter days and therefore may feel a sense of aggravation and anxiety as we get back in alignment with nature.
Autumn represents the element of Air and the inhale of energy back to the earth from the summer sun's exhale: much like our own pranic force of inhaling in and exhaling out: our mind and bodies are always in sync with nature.
Autumn's active element is Air, also known in Ayurveda as the Vata dosha: when both the earth and our bodies tend to get aggravated with fear and anxiety as a reflection of the transformation in nature. Therefore, October is a good month to work on converting fear and anxiety into empowerment of self that is complimented by relaxing the spirit.
Use this month to look inward (moon energy) to be proactive (sun energy) on achieving your goals and purpose in life. It's important to eat healthy during this time as well so you can build your immune system for winter and avoid getting sick which interferes with a balanced body and mind.
Here are some daily tips to keep your body in tune with your true self during the Fall season:
self- body massage of limbs and face before you get out of bed in the morning
Practice Hatha Yoga with daily sun salutations: 6 to 12 a day
Choose to do the Kundalini Yoga kriya like the Nahbi Kriya to stay in tune with your purpose in life and keep the sun energy active within.
get rid of toxins and anxiety before bed : wash your feet and give yourself a foot massage with almond oil
do 3 minutes of deep breathing before bed to relax and rid your worries of the day.
Keep your home tidy and clean and light some candles and incense to give yourself a sense of comfort and tranquility.
Declutter all things from your home you do not need anymore
